I love it; it works great! The instructions suck, though, and are not very good on how to use it, so it took me a minute, but I figured it out. Just make sure you are using the correct mandrel for that insert, or you will damage the threads. I saw a review on this tool that it was junk because it stripped out the threads the first time they used it. This happened because they didn’t know what they were doing and installed the insert with the wrong mandrel, which is easy to do. Don’t use a metric mandrel with a standard insert, as it will damage the threads on the mandrel. The handles are long, which is nice when squeezing the handles together to install the insert, but in tight quarters, the long handles could be a problem. Overall, it's an awesome tool as long as you use it properly; it does the job, and I would buy it again.

There's seriously just no easier method for modifying a car or UTV to accept mods than this method of installing fasteners. I mean, the applications go way beyond that, but as you can see from me installing a light on my Polaris, this kit makes it super easy to accomplish whatever mounting position you want. This kit comes with multiple heads for the crimping handle that are also adjustable for how much pressure you need depending on the material's thickness. Just make sure to paint the inside area of the hole you drilled to help avoid rust later. The easy identification of each head neatly organized into their own cases is honestly very well thought out. This RivNut kit is worth every penny.

I mounted a tailgate shelf to my Jeep. I needed this tool to mount the thread inserts provided in the package. It called for M6 inserts. I drilled the hole in the sheet metal and selected the proper arbor for the installation. The job came out great. The tool was a pleasure to use. Just remember when expanding the rivets when it naturally stops don't force the handles to crimp it tighter; that's the reason some people may experience stripping arbor parts.

Welded nut on the backside of the panel snapped off when removing the front quarter panel of my K5 Blazer. It was a lot easier to do this than cut open an access area to weld in a new nut, and then weld the access area back up.

The handle length on this tool makes it easy to set the rivets without having to pull too hard. The instructions explain how to use the gauge for smaller rivets to avoid ripping them out, which is helpful. However, if you're using larger rivets, following the gauge isn't necessary. I found the instructions a bit confusing, but using the tool itself is pretty straightforward. I did strip a couple of rivets, but that was my mistake for using the wrong adapter; there was a larger rivet mixed in with my container. Overall, definitely worth the buy!
